Technique Bargello embroidery (bargello).

Technique Bargello embroidery (bargello) is known as the Florentine stitch or Hungarian embroidery. This way of embroidery, arose in the 15th century. Most often, this technique used for embroidery, curtains, upholstery and tablecloths. Just Bargello was popular in 70th years 20 century! Now this kind of embroidery again becoming more popular. But what is after all this? Bargello technique consists of a series of parallel stitches, located in a zigzag curve, and they are repeated in various shades of thread. The dimension of the puzzle depends on the number of threads of a skein and the location of the next stitch. That is, for example, we need a smoother transition, while the stitches are offset by a cell and / or consecutive 3.2-stitch the same length. If you need sharp transitions, the shift is from 3 or more cells and a row at one level have not put stitches.

Richard Preston (Richard Preston) from Toronto (Canada) is not limited to the narrow limits of a single creative direction, trying himself as a painter, sculptor, designer, photographer, writer, actor, musician ...  In 1979, long hair, hung with "Baubles" by Richard Preston, just returned from a hitchhiking across Canada, initiated the establishment of West Coast Jacket (Jackets of the West Coast, 1980) - the first of a series of military jackets on which beads or embroidery, it creates a variety of topical or abstract paintings. Army clothing, embroidered sun, clouds, heaps of stars, river flows, with flowers, including a lush pink wreath on her head skeleton, symbolizing death, covered with designs with a touch of psychedelic aesthetic, makes a strong and rather contradictory impression, transforming each jacket - originally impersonal thing - a unique and truly a conceptual object. As acknowledged by Preston, but interest in working with new material, inspiring momentum served as a major transformation in public consciousness and personal rethinking of global problems, such as demilitarization.
